You made yourself comfortable

on my body length pillow

like you had been in my room

hundreds of times. It didn’t feel like

we had only seen each other’s faces

behind screens before that day.

You guided my legs over your body

and looked me in the eyes while you

wandered in the labyrinth of my brain.

I grabbed my polaroid and pointed it

towards your blissful smile, making you

grab your black beanie to ensure its position

on your head. I had never seen you

hatless before. You told me that once

your hair grew from its buzzed state,

you would take your hat off for me.

I look back at this photo and feel a comet

entering the atmosphere of my heart,

because I’m lucky enough to be

the one you took your hat off for.
